Art Deco Noritake Japanese Tea Set. Probably initiated by Noritake for the world-wide interest in the discovery of King Tut's tomb in Egypt in 1922. I have spent hours, if not days, researching this set, and NO comparables were found. The set is perfect in all ways.
The last photo demonstrates the thinness of the china. The decoration is of the Egyptian God Anubis, which goes hand in hand with the afterlife of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun (King Tut). If you are looking for something very special to put on display, this set should be yours. There is a total of 15 pieces, including the two lids. The teapot is 5 3/4" tall, the saucers, 5 1/2" width, and the cups, 3 1/2 at lip.
